You can view the settings and schedule that were used to produce an earlier recording, edit them, and save them as a new configuration file.
About this task
Full-spectrum .wav and .w4v recordings produced by the Song Meter SM5 and other Song Meters contain metadata describing how the recorder was configured when the recording was made. You can use a past recording to create a new configuration file with matching settings.
Keep in mind the following limitations:
- The SM5/SM5BAT Configurator can only open recordings from the SM5 and SM5BAT recorders. Separate desktop configurators are available for other models.
- Editing a recording using software other than Wildlife Acoustics Kaleidoscope may remove the required metadata from the recording, preventing you from viewing the associated schedule and settings.
Procedure
- In the desktop configurator, select and select a .wav file recorded by a Song Meter SM5.
- Edit the settings and schedule, if desired.
- Select to save a configuration file.
