A future update to the Song Meter Configurator app will allow you to update the SM5's firmware directly over Bluetooth®, without using an SD card.
About this task
After a forthcoming app update, you will be able to download new firmware updates directly from the internet to the Song Meter Configurator app, then send the update directly to a paired recorder via Bluetooth. The process of sending a firmware update to a paired recorder will take 2–3 minutes using most smartphones.
Until this new feature is available, refer to instructions on updating the SM5's firmware using an SD card. If you need to update a large number of recorders, the fastest method will be to use a single SD card to update multiple recorders directly from boot.
