Update Firmware Using the Built-In Utilities Menu - SM5

You can install new firmware using the Utilities menu on the SM5's built-in screen.

1. Reformat an SD card.
2. Download the latest SM5 firmware update from the Wildlife Acoustics website, and save the file to the reformatted SD card.
3. Insert the SD card with the firmware file into either SD slot on the SM5.
4. Turn on the SM5 and press Enter to exit the status screen.
5. Go to Utilities > Update FW from SD.
   The screen will display the firmware version currently installed on the SM5: Current FW: X.Y.
6. Select either SD card 1 or 2, then select the firmware file and confirm your choice.
   The screen will display the message, Firmware update in progress, please do not remove power. The SM5 will then reboot and display the main status screen. The installed firmware version will be shown below the date field.
