We recommend updating the SM5's firmware on a regular basis. New firmware updates add new features, fix bugs, and improve performance.
The built-in interface of the SM5 allows you to install a firmware file from an SD card onto the recorder using either the Utilities menu or a button shortcut to quickly update as you power the recorder on. You may use the same SD card to update multiple SM5 and SM5BAT recorders.
