Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
The Song Meter Configurator app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with Song Meter recorders. BLE was first supported on some smartphones and tablets beginning in 2011, and it is very widely supported today.
Recommended: Satellite Location Services
A mobile device with a built-in antenna that supports satellite positioning (using GPS, GLONASS, or other satellite navigation networks) is useful, but not required. Accurate location data allows the mobile device to automatically update a paired Song Meter's saved location setting.
Not Required: Internet Connectivity
Cellular or internet connection is only required to install and update the Song Meter Configurator app. Once the app is installed, it does not require internet connectivity to communicate with Song Meter recorders.
