Prepare the SM5 for Long-Term Storage - SM5

Safely store your recorder during the off-season.

1. Remove all primary batteries from the recorder.
   Alkaline batteries, in particular, can leak if left installed in a device for long periods of time.
   The CR2032 clock backup battery can remain installed long-term.
2. Wipe the outside of the enclosure and around the edges of the enclosure opening with a damp cloth.
   You may use isopropyl alcohol to help remove oils or other difficult substances.
3. Store the SM5 in a dry place where it will not experience extreme temperature swings.
