Navigate the Built-In Interface - SM5

Use the four buttons adjacent to the built-in display to configure the SM5.

1. Install internal batteries or connect an external power source to the SM5.
2. Use the power switch to turn the recorder on.
   The screen will wake and display the main status screen.
3. Press Up and Down to view different status screens.
4. Press Enter to exit the status screen to the main menu.
5. While on the main menu, press Back to return to the status screen.
6. Press Up or Down to select a sub-menu, and press Enter to open it.
7. On any menu entry, press and hold Enter to display a "tooltip" describing the menu or setting.
8. Edit a setting:
   1. To edit a setting with three or fewer options, press Enter to cycle through the available options.
   2. To edit a setting with its own editing screen, use Up and Down to change values, and press Back or Enter to save changes and finish editing.
   3. To cycle between multiple sub-fields within a setting (such as hours, minutes, and seconds), press Enter .
