When you have paired with a SM5 over Bluetooth®, you can
generate recorder diagnostics and send them using your phone or tablet's email
client.
Procedure

Contact Wildlife Acoustics Support to
describe any issues you are experiencing with the SM5.
A diagnostics file may not be necessary to resolve or diagnose the issue. If a
diagnostics file is needed, the context of your description helps us interpret
the file.

Make sure your device's default email app is able to send emails.
Third-party email apps (such as Gmailâ„¢ installed on iOS) will not work for
this function.

Install new or freshly-charged batteries in the SM5.
Batteries that have been almost fully drained may fail during the diagnostics
process.

Pair the app with the SM5 and select .
Your device's email interface will produce an email addressed to
Wildlife Acoustics support with a .sm5diags file
attached.

Edit the email subject to include an ongoing support case number and add any
relevant information about the diagnostics file to the message body, then send
the email.
