Clock Drift Without GPS/GLONASS Synchronization
| Temperature | Clock Drift |
|---|---|
| +20°C | ±5 ppm |
| -40°C ~ +85°C | ±10 ppm |
Clock Drift After GPS/GLONASS Synchronization
When the SM5 synchronizes with GPS/GLONASS non-continuously, it calibrates the real-time clock to minimize clock drift at a given temperature. This calibration setting is maintained until the next time the SM5 synchronizes with GPS/GLONASS or until the backup clock battery is removed.
| Temperature | Clock Drift |
|---|---|
| Temperature maintained during and after calibration | ±1 ppm |
| -40°C ~ +85°C | ±6 ppm |
Clock Error During Continuous GPS/GLONASS Synchronization
| Maximum clock error while synchronized (typical) | 30 μs + 1/(Sample rate) |
|---|
The maximum timing error of each audio sample is partially dependent on the recorded sample rate. For example, at a sample rate of 24 kHz, the total error is 30 μs + (1/24,000) s = 72 μs.
