When you power on the Song Meter SM2, the screen does not show any activity.
Cause: Dead Batteries or Recorder Asleep
If at least one battery is drained or faulty, the recorder may not have enough power to boot.
If you power the recorder on during a period when it is schedule to sleep, then it may boot directly into sleep, and the screen may not show signs of activity.
Solution
- If any metal contacts or springs in the battery tray exhibit corrosion, use a cloth and isopropyl alcohol to clean them.
- Install four brand-new, alkaline, D batteries.
- Set the power switch (SM2+/SM2BAT+) or power jumper (SM2/SM2BAT) to Internal.
- Press Wake/Exit.
