About this task

In April 2024, we released a firmware update allowing Echo Meter Touch modules with Micro-USB and Lightning plugs to connect to iOS devices that have a USB-C port.

If you have an Echo Meter Touch module that has a Micro-USB or USB-C plug and was purchased prior to April 2024, you can use an Android device to update the module’s firmware and enable this new compatibility.

Procedure

  1. Update the Echo Meter app on your Android device to the latest version available from the Google Play store.
  2. Connect your Ultrasonic Module to a compatible Android device.
  3. Navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings.
  4. Select Update Module Firmware.
    A progress bar will appear, then the Echo Meter Touch module will disconnect from the app.
  5. Remove and re-insert the Ultrasonic Module.

Results

After the firmware has been updated, the Advanced Settings screen will display a message to indicate the module is up-to-date. Your module is now ready to use with USB-C-equipped iOS devices.
