If you plan on buying a new Echo Meter Touch 2 or Touch 2 PRO, you can check your
phone or tablet's compatibility first.
About this task
These steps walk you through checking whether your iOS/iPadOS, Android, or Fire OS
device is compatible with EMT modules sold after April 2024.
These instructions do not cover EMT modules sold prior to April 2024. For
instructions on checking an older EMT module, see Check Compatibility with an EMT Module You Already Own
Procedure
-
Check whether your phone or tablet runs iOS/iPadOS, Amazon Fire OS, or
Android.
- For iOS or iPadOS devices, go to Step 2.
- For Fire OS devices, go to Step 3.
- For Android devices, go to Step 4.
-
Check which data port your iOS or iPadOS device has by looking at its charging
cable.
- If your iOS or iPadOS device has a Lightning port, it is not
compatible with new EMT modules.
- If your iOS or iPadOS device has a USB-C port, it is compatible
with new EMT modules.
-
Check if your Fire OS device is on our list of known compatible
devices.
- If your Fire OS device is not on the list, it is not compatible
with any EMT module.
- If your Fire OS device is on the list, it is compatible with new
EMT modules and does not require a USB adapter. You may use a USB-C
extension stub or cable if you want.
-
Check to see if your Android device is on our list of known compatible
devices.
- If your Android device is not on the list, go to Step 5.
- If your Android device is on the list, it is compatible with EMT
modules, but it may need a USB adapter. Go to Step 6.
-
Check if your Android device meets the general requirements for Android compatibility.
- If your Android device meets all requirements, it may be
compatible, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with devices we
have not tested. If you still want to try using an EMT with your device, go
to Step 6.
- If your Android device fails to meet any requirement, it is not
compatible with any EMT modules
-
Check which data port your Android device has by looking at its charging
cable.
